Water-based epoxy resin primer.
CRF Water-based Epoxy PRIMER TECHNICAL DATA SHEET.
CRF WATER DISPERSABLE EPOXY PRIMER
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
USES - CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer is a two component water dispersed epoxy resin system, which is an easily applied primer for use with epoxy resin coatings and screeds. It can be applied to newly laid concrete as well as damp or dry mature concrete. CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer can also be used as a curing membrane for concrete, giving a protected primed surface for later coating with CRF Epoxy Resin based systems.
ADVANTAGES
1. Excellent adhesion to correctly prepared concrete substrates. 2. Low viscosity giving good penetration properties. 3. Tools can be cleaned with water, provided initial cure of resins has not taken place. 4. Very low odour. 5. Improves the resistance of concrete to many industrial chemicals. 6. Low cost and easy to apply.
TECHNICAL DATA
Usable life @ 20°C - 1.0 – 1.5 hours Time before recoating @ 20°C - 6.0 hours approx. Specific gravity @ 20°C - 1.08 Initial hardness @ 20°C - 24 hours Full cure @ 20°C - 7 days Minimum application temperature - 10°C Shelf life - 12 months Storage temperature - 5°C - 30°C
SURFACE PREPARATION
The substrate should be clean, free from laitance, oil, grease or other agents, which may impair adhesion. Cleaning techniques could, depending on contamination be any of the following: - acid etching, light mechanical scabbling, blasting, grinding or degreasing.
Existing concrete floors should be sound but preparation methods may involve the patching of floor areas with CRF Patch Repair System.
APPLICATION
CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer is applied to the prepared substrates by roller or brush, ensuring a continuous film. Avoid over-application and puddles. Porous floors may require two coats of CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer.
MIXING & COVERAGE
CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer is normally supplied in 4.50kg units; however, other sizes can be made available if required.
A 4.50kg unit of CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer will cover approximately 25 – 30m² depending on the porosity of the substrate.
HEALTH & SAFETY
It is recommended that barrier creams, gloves and protective clothing be used when working with CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Primer.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
After contact with skin wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. For full details see separate Health & Safety Data Sheet.
