High-build epoxy resin coating.

CRF SOLVENT FREE COATING - HIGH BUILD TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

USES - CRF Solvent Free Coating – High Build is suitable for use where a hard wearing, dust free, hygienic, easy to clean floor topping is required. It is very widely used on industrial or commercial floors in laboratories, showrooms, schools, plant rooms and food processing areas etc.,

DESCRIPTION - CRF Solvent Free Coating is based on a blend of epoxy resin and curing agent binder, giving a very low odour. The product is supplied as two components, the epoxy resin component being pigmented. CRF Solvent Free Coating has been formulated using fillers, giving high abrasion resistant properties.

ADVANTAGES -

1. Solvent free - giving a low odour system suitable for use in food industries. 2. Hygienic - provides easy to clean, dust free surfaces. 3. Good chemical resistance. 4. Choice of colours. 5. Hard wearing, good abrasion resistance, withstands foot and light vehicular traffic.

TECHNICAL DATA

Usable time (1.0kg mix) at 20°C - 60 minutes Minimum application temperature - 5°C Initial cure (foot traffic) - 24 hours Full cure (chemical resistance, mechanical properties) - 7 days Dry film thickness - 150 – 200 microns Shelf life - 12 months Storage temperature - 5°C - 35°C Mixed S.G.@ 20°C - 1.30 – 1.40 (Resin & Curing Agent mixed together)

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE - CRF Solvent Free Coating – High Build is resistant to a very wide range of chemicals, but we recommend that any specific chemical resistance properties should be cleared with our Technical Department before use.

SURFACE PREPARATION

New concrete should be at least 21 – 28 days old or the moisture content less than 5%. The substrate should be clean, free from laitance, oil, grease, or other agents that might impair adhesion. Techniques could include one or more of the following, depending on how contaminated the substrate is: - acid etching, light mechanical scabbling, blasting, grinding or degreasing.

PRIMING

Priming is especially recommended on surfaces, which are very porous. Low viscosity CRF Solvent Free Primer should be used, as this will provide maximum adhesion. CRF Solvent Free Primer should be mixed in the proportions supplied, add the entire contents of curing agent B into the resin component A, when thoroughly mixed, preferably using a slow speed drill, the primer should be applied in a thin, continuous film using a roller or brush. Work the primer well into the surface of the concrete taking care to avoid puddling or over application. Please note very porous substrates may require two coats of primer.

APPLICATION

Apply by brush or roller; re-coating should take place as soon as possible to achieve good intercoat adhesion properties, preferably on the following day. If more than one day elapses between coats, abrade the surface lightly (with glass paper) before re-coating. We would normally recommend two coats of CRF Solvent Free Coating – High Build for long-term protection and to gain the required thickness.

MIXING

Add the full contents of curing agent component B to the contents of resin component A and mix thoroughly until an even colour is obtained.

COVERAGE

A 5.0kg unit of CRF Solvent Free Coating – High Build will cover approximately 15m˛. Please note: For porous surfaces, very light and pastel shades may require extra coats.

CLEANING

CRF Tool Cleaning Solvent should be used for cleaning tools – do not use on hands. HEALTH & SAFETY

It is recommended that barrier creams, gloves and protective clothing be worn when using CRF. Solvent Free Coating, CRF Solvent Free Primer and CRF Tool Cleaning Solvent.

If eyes are affected wash with copious amounts of cold water and seek medical advice. For hands, wash with soap and water.
