N.B: - BRITISH STANDARD colours are given as the closest reference to the actual colour of CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Coating. The production of non-standard colours could take a little longer than our standard colours.
SURFACE PREPARATION New concrete should be at least 14 days old or the moisture content less than 10%. The substrate should be clean and free from laitance, oil, grease or any other agents that may affect adhesion. Cleaning techniques should be by mechanical means such as scabbling, blasting or grinding, depending on the condition of the substrate. Acid etching should also be considered, ensuring that all of the acid is removed before the coating is applied, as the presence of acid will alter the PH of the coating, which could lead to a breakdown in the emulsion and poor brushable properties. Existing concrete should be sound and any surface repairs should be carried out with CRF Epoxy Patch Repair System.
APPLICATION. On dense concrete CRF. Water Dispersable Epoxy Coating may be thinned with 5% - 10% water to ensure maximum penetration into the substrate. Application on all surfaces is by brush or roller ensuring complete coverage of the substrate. The second coat should be applied within 24 hours and preferably as soon as the first coat is touch dry. If a non-skid finish is required then oven-dried aggregate can be applied to the first or second coat whilst still tacky, depending on the finish required.
MIXING - CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Coating is supplied in pre-weighed containers and is ready for mixing on site. The individual components of the product should be stirred before the two are mixed together. The entire contents of Resin Component A should be added to Curing Agent Component B and mixed for 5 minutes. The use of a paddle-head mixer on a slow speed drill is ideal.
COVERAGE - A 5.40kg unit of CRF Water Dispersable Epoxy Coating will cover approximately 35 – 40m˛. Please note: For porous surfaces, very light and pastel shades may require extra coats. CLEANING All tools and equipment can be cleaned with water or CRF Tool Cleaning Solvent. (Do not use solvents on hands).
