Sythentic Industrial, epoxy and polyurethane resin flooring is classified into eight diffrent types. Each different type of industrial resin flooring has its own particular performance characteristics.

Type 1 - Floor Seal
Applied in two or more coats - Generally solvent or waterbased.
Dry film thickness of up to 150 microns.
Light-duty

Type 2 - Floor Coating
Applied in two or more coats - Generally solvent free.
Film thickness of 150 - 300 microns.
Light / Medium Duty

Type 3 - High build floor coating
Applied in two or more coats - Generally solvent free.
Final film thickness of 300 to 1000 microns.
Medium Duty

Type 4 - Multi layer flooring
Multiple layers of floor coating or flow applied flooring with aggregate dressing, often described as sandwich systems.
Thickness greater than 2mm.
Medium / Heavy Duty

Type 5 - Flow applied flooring
Often referred to as self-smoothing or self-leveling flooring, has a smooth surface or may be given a surface dressing.
Laid between 2mm and 3mm in thickness.
Medium / Heavy Duty

Type 6 - Screed flooring
Heavily filled trowel finished system generally incorporating a surface seal coat to minimise porosity.
Medium / Heavy Duty

Type 7 - Heavy duty flowable flooring
Aggregate filled and applied having a smooth surface can be given a surface dressing.
Laid between 4mm and 6mm in thickness
Heavy / Very Heavy Duty

Type 8 - Heavy duty screed flooring
Trowel finished, aggregate filled system, effectively impervious throughout its structure. Ideal for food/hygienic flooring.
Laid at a thickness of 6mm or more


*Light Duty - light foot traffic, occasional rubber tyred vehicles.
*Medium Duty - regular foot traffic, frequent fork lift truck traffic, occasional hard plastic-wheeled trolleys.
*Heavy Duty - constant fork lift truck traffic, hard plastic wheeled trolleys, some impact.
*Very Heavy Duty - severe heavily loaded traffic and impact.
